This place had cool surfing decors, giving it a very casual hip ambience, perfect for a meal anytime.

They also have the daily specials on the blackboard. Slightly hard to read, if you have bad eyes like mine?. O, and apparently Guy Fieri was here before too. Honestly, I have always been envious of Guy’s job.

I ordered the chef’s daily special of mixed plate consisting of teriyaki chicken, teriyaki beef, chicken katsu, and breaded mahi mahi.

Boy, I love big plate of food?! Don’t you? There was 1 slice of beef and chicken, both had delicious teriyaki flavour. The crispy thin fillet of mahi mahi was lightly breaded and tasty. The chicken katsu was decent, nothing special though.

B had the kalbi ribs (totally expected ?). B preferred less charring of his kalbi, but he still devoured it to the bones as it was tender and flavourful.

Compared to our other plates, I was a bit disappointed at the portion of my take-out order of ahi poke. Unlike most of the other pokes that I have tried, these were small cubes. They did not use much seasoning, maybe none at all, except onions and spring onions. I liked the fact that it was not smothered in mayo or thick sauces. It was entirely the fresh taste of ahi fish. It smelled understandably a bit fishy, but not bad at all.
Verdict: would go back!
